India exposure for Non-Resident Indians
A regulated, onshore route for Non-Resident Indians to access systematic quantitative strategies in Indian markets — through an IFSCA-regulated AIF in GIFT City.
Why GIFT City matters for NRIs
A regulated onshore route
GIFT IFSC was set up specifically to provide an Indian-regulated jurisdiction for activities previously routed through offshore hubs. NRIs gain access to Indian markets through a vehicle supervised by IFSCA — the unified regulator for financial services in the IFSC.
Institutional-grade fund structure
The Stratus Fund operates under the IFSCA (Fund Management) Regulations, with PPM-based disclosure, defined risk frameworks, and independent custody and administration arrangements.
Currency and remittance flexibility
IFSC funds can be denominated and settled in major foreign currencies. Subscription and redemption mechanics are designed for cross-border investors, subject to applicable FEMA and IFSCA frameworks.
Systematic exposure to Indian markets
The Stratus Fund employs rules-based long-short strategies focused on the depth and dispersion of Indian derivative markets — strategies that are difficult to access through traditional offshore equity-only routes.
What to consider
- ●Eligibility and KYC. NRI eligibility is governed by IFSCA regulations and the fund's PPM. Subscriptions are subject to KYC, AML, and any applicable FATCA/CRS requirements.
- ●Tax treatment. Tax outcomes for a non-resident investor depend on jurisdiction of residency, applicable tax treaties, fund structure, and individual circumstances. Please consult your own tax advisor.
- ●Minimum investment. The IFSCA regulatory minimum is USD 150,000 per investor (or equivalent), with concessions for accredited investors. Fund-specific minimums and accredited-investor mechanics are detailed in the PPM.
- ●Liquidity. The Stratus Fund is open-ended with monthly liquidity windows, zero exit load, and no lock-in period.
